　１２月　Dec.木守り柿　A persimmon stayed at a tree
　
　
　晴れた冬の朝だ
　一つ残った柿の実が
　口笛を吹き
　お日様とにらめっこしている
　ヒヨドリよ
　その実を突っ突くなよー

It was a fine winter morning.
A persimmon was playing
a staring game with the sun
whistling a tune from the tree.
Mr. Bulbul,
don't peck the GK.
　　　

　　　１１月　Nov. 神聖な場所　The holy place

　お爺さんは教会の中だべ
　お婆さんは火葬場の控室よ
　兄ニイは胎内かな
　姉ネエはお寺の須弥壇かも
　少年は星空！
　少女はショクバだってよ！

An old people said it is inside a shrine,
an old lady, it might be a waiting room of a crematory,
a man, in a womb,
a woman, in front of Buddha in a temple,
a boy, a starry sky!
and the girl, at work!

　　１０月　Oct. サガリバナ　Sagaribana

　サガリバナは夜に開いて、朝に散る
　県庁前の庭に咲いているそうで
　早朝、見に行った
　ライト・アップされた白い花
　最近、漫湖の土手に咲く彼女を見た

The flower blooms at night,
and she falls in the morning.
An evening paper said that she was flowering
in front of the prefectural office building.
Next day, I went to see her in the early morning.
Recently I saw her casually in the Manko park.

　　９月　Sept. 朝の散歩　A morning walk

　公園の湖畔道路では
　ぼくはハーモニカを吹く
　童謡が吹きやすい
　ヒヨドリや野良猫は無視するが
　先生に連れられた園児は拍手もしてくれる
　ぼくは手を振って応える

In the park on the shore,
I play a tune on the harmonica.
I like the nursery rhymes.
Though a stray cat and a Bulbul ignore me,
a teacher and the kindergartners clap their hands.
I waved them a greeting.

　　８月　Aug.イエロー・カード・Abstinence

　今月はあっこの祥月
　夫は毎年手を合わせに来るが
　今年は十回目
　あっこが入院中に一度
　ぼくに紙切れを渡した
　「いい加減なヤツ」と書いてあった
　娘は闘病、母親は看病
　彼は毎週飛行機で見に来るというのに
　父親は酒臭いばかり
　あっこは審判だった

August is the anniversary of Acco's death
Her huband visits the grave every year.
It's been ten years since my daughter died.
When she was taken to the hospital for treatment,
she handed me a card,
"ABSTINENCE!"
Though she had struggled with illness,
though her husband and mother had sat with her
her father had been a drinker.
She was like a judge to me.

　　７月 July イモ・はだしロン・My sweet potato theory

　イモ食べて、裸足で歩こう
　いや、ステーキ食べ、革靴履こう
　そんな論戦があったとか
　ジェット雲は、思い出を挟む栞
　芋粥も、美味いぞ

Let's eat the sweet potato and go out on foot.
No, I eat my steak, and put on my shoes.
Our leaders discussed in the debate.
A vapor trail may be a long marker of remembrance.
Sweet potato porridge is good as well.

　　６月June　台風一過　The May Typhoon flew by fast

　五月の珍客
　ベトナムの名前
　Songda は
　真夜中に騒ぎ回り
　暴れ回った
　
　台風一過、梅雨晴の日
　ウオーカーは湖畔道路に
　繰り出した
　
　ぼくも、歩いた
　メモを見いみい
　「雨ニモマケズ、
　風ニモマケズ、
　酒ニモマケズ、、、」

The May typhoon flew by fast
in the night sky,
She was very rampageous.
On a spell of a nice day during
the rainy season,
a lot of walkers walked
on the lakeside road.
I walked speaking from a card.

"Unbeaten by rain,
　Unbeaten by storm,
　Unbowed by Alcohol,,,"

　　５月　May 　ジュゴン　The sea cows

　
　ジュゴンの肉は美味く
　江戸の偉いさんに届けたりもしたそうだ
　人懐っこく、よく浜辺に近寄った
　最近では、定置網が仕掛けられ
　近寄れなくなり辺野古崎へ移ったそうだ
　キャンプシュワーブの沖合で
　人魚を演じたりしているのだが
　米軍普天間飛行場の移設案が出てきた

We ate the sea cows.
We presented it to the General in the Edo period.
The sea cows were friendly and approached the beach.
But we have fixed the shore nets on the beach.
The dugongs gathered around Cape Henoko.
We may see a mermaid around there.
The srory goes that US Hutenma Air Bsse was moved
there.
What shall the sea cows do?

　　４月　Apr. 半旗　The Rising-Sun at half-mast

　先月、史上空前の地震と津波が東北地方を襲った。
　テレビで津波が集落を洗う様を見た。福島原発の建物も壊れた。何という事だ。

The devastating Earthquakes and Tsunamis struck the
Tohoku district last month.
I saw the images on TV that the Tsunami just hit a village. Jsut think, the buildings of some nuclea plant were destroyed.

　３月　Mar.　呪文　The spell

　公園で
　早朝、歩く人が多かったり
　昼間、園児らの列に出会うと
　歩きながらのハモニカは遠慮して口遊むのだが
　ふと、懐かしいメロデイーが出た
　♪歌え踊れ楽しく、
　　ビビデバビデブー
　デイズニー映画「シンデレラ」
　妖精の唱える魔法の呪文だが
　昔、ひもじさ忘れべと歌ったもんだべさ

At the park
I see a lot of people in the morning
They are walking on the shore
They are kindergartners daytimes
I refrain from blowing harmonica
And I hum a tune to myself
A good old melody popped into my mind
♪Salagadoola mechickaboola　
　bibidi-bobbidi-boo
The fairy recited this charm
At the Disney animator "Cinderella"
I had sung this song when.

　２月 Feb.サウンド・オブ・ミュージック My Sound of Music

　
　公園を歩きながら
　ハーモニカを吹くのだが
　美くは吹けない
　メロデイーが吃るようだ
　たまには、童歌を吹いていて
　上手く行くこともある
　映画のマリアに聞かせてもいいぐらい

I walk in the park playing my harmonica.
I can not play it well.
My sound stammers.
When I play the mouth organ very well,
I may give the sound of music to Maria in the films.
　

　　１月　兎年　The year of the Rabbit

ぼくは毎朝、散歩をする
小禄の坂道を下りて、漫湖公園へ
湖畔道路の一本道では、大股で歩いたり
野兎みたいに小走りしたり
野良猫は物知り顔して道端に
あけましておめでとう！
湖水面は満潮だ
恭頌新禧

I go walking on the after breakfast.
I go down Oroku and reach Manko park.
I walk like a giant or a hare at the lake.
The stray cats sit with a knowing look here and there.
I wish you a Happy New Year!
The tide was at the full right then.
